- Please keep in mind: When it comes to organics and plant based dyes, each batch of fabric that is produced is not always the same and can have slightly different colours and hues. We can not guarantee a fitted sheet, a flat sheet and/or pillowcases will match perfectly – such is the nature of organic products!
Please be aware, when we first started this flannel program, all the flannel had the label and washing tags on the outside of the sheets, pillowcases and duvet covers. Due to some complaints in the aesthetic look of the tags on the outside, we asked Kouchini to change this, which required them to unpick and hand sow all the tags. Realizing this was too time consuming and effecting the delivery time for online orders, we have opted to keep the tags where they were originally placed, on the outside of the product.
We want to be as transparent as possible. This flannel is of excellent quality. If you do not want the wash tags visible, you can cut them off. We recommend storing them in your laundry room should you need to refer to them again, or take a photo with your phone, or send us an email before washing your flannel again 🙂
As we make this transition, we realize our 25% off flannel on the other page is older stock that may contain a mix assortment of tag locations. We can not at this time make any swaps or exchanges for different tag locations. We greatly appreciate your understanding in this matter.
Recommended Care Instructions: For the first wash, we recommend washing all of your flannel separate from each other and on their own. Flat sheet washed sperate from fitted sheet – maybe throw a pillowcase in with each one. Why?
This is because combed cotton like flannel is made by weaving chungus (fat) cotton yarn into fabric that is then brushed to create a soft fluffy feel, it also has some initial loose fibres that can transfer to other flannel and fabrics and give the appearance of pilling.
Use a cold machine wash and warm tumble dry to remove excess lint, it may take a few washes for linting to subside. Clean out the dryer lint trap regularly as it will fill up quickly with lint – don’t be alarmed by the volume!
To increase the longevity of your flannel sheets, line drying is best, or a low or zero temperature tumble dry in your dryer if you’re unable to hang it. Regular high heat drying causes friction which is what creates pilling (nobody wants little lint balls in the sheets).
