With proper care and cleaning, this mattress pad will last for years to come – The manufacturer recommends you spot clean or hand wash/dry clean as needed. Because it is cotton, it is prone to shrinkage under high heat. Always err on the side of caution when it comes to temperature. Cooler is safer.
You say it’s organic but it contains a polyester backing???
We were initially surprised by this as well. The backing to the organic cotton is a polyester base that has the polyester skirt sewn into it. The full cotton fill and organic cotton fabric is what you are closely in contact with – that is what your body is touching when you’re sleeping and is the most important element. The polyester backing essentially sits atop your mattress. You will still have incredible air circulation between you and your mattress allowing for a more breathable, comfortable sleep.
